A wonderfulfully chewy soft pretzel recipe that is a must try! For the cup of warm milk, it should be 110 degrees, or about 1 minute in the microwave. I usually use brown suger instead of malt powder and after they come out of the oven, sprinking mozzarella cheese on top is a nice option. Ingredients:
1 teaspoon instant yeast |
1 tablespoon brown sugar or 1 malt drink powder |
2 -3 cups unbleached flour or 2 -3 cups bread flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 cup warm milk |
Directions:
1. preheat oven to 425 degrees. 2. mix all together till forms a ball. 3. mix dough for 5 mintues. 4. cut dough into 8 or more pieces. 5. roll out into strips about 15 inches long. 6. go ahead and twist into pretzel shapes. 7. bring a pot of water to a boil. 8. dunk each pretzel into the boiling water for 5 seconds. 9. place on ungreased pan after dunking. 10. after you have dunked each pretzel in the boiling water, brush with an egg and sprinkle with a coarse salt. 11. bake for 8-10 minutes. |
