This is the way I grew up eating grits in the northwest and we often ate them for breakfast! It's simple and very tasty! Ingredients:
3/4 cup water |
3 tablespoons quick-cooking grits |
1 dash salt |
1 1/2 tablespoons butter |
1/4-1/2 cup brown sugar |
Directions:
1. Mix grits, salt, and water in bowl and cook in microwave on high for 2.5-3 minutes, until nice and thick. Stir occasionally. 2. Stir in butter and brown sugar, add more or less to taste. (can also add some milk to thin them out a little and make creamier if you prefer, which also helps cool them down). 3. Enjoy! |
