Delicious Creamed Cabbage With Bacon |

So, so easy. Cabbage, onions crumbled bacon, country ham, and heavy cream is layered in a pot, cooked for about 10 minutes. Liquid is reduced to a thick sauce. A wonderful side dish, especially when served with sweet potatoes and pork loin. Ingredients:
2 slices bacon, crisp-cooked and crumbled |
1/2 cup finely diced, cooked country ham |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
7 cups shredded green cabbage |
1/2 cup heavy cream |
pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. In a large pot, layer in order: bacon, ham, onion, cabbage, pepper 2. Pour cream over all 3. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to medium 4. Cook 10 minutes, stirring gently, occasionally OR until cabbage is soft and liquid is reduced to a nich thick sauce 5. Delicious! |
