This is a great appetizer for all of us garlic lovers out there...That's right, I am a lover of Garlic Ingredients:
2 heads of garlic, separated and peeled |
1 cup bisquick |
1 egg |
1/2 cup beer |
2 tsp. parsley, dried |
1/2 tsp. kosher salt |
oil for frying |
your favorite marinara sauce for dipping |
grated parmesan cheese to garnish |
Directions:
1. Boil water in medium pan 2. Drop cloves of garlic into water and, when it starts to boil again, blanch 3 minutes if you really like garlic and 4 minutes if you like a milder garlic flavor 3. Drain and put into cold water 4. Set aside 5. Mix Bisquick, egg, beer, parsley and salt in mixing bowl 6. Heat oil to 375 (I don't have a thermometer so I just stick the end of a wooden spoon into the oil and if it creates bubbles around the whole end of the spoon, it's 375) 7. Pat garlic dry of water 8. Dip each clove into batter 9. Add to oil and cook until golden brown 10. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels 11. Sprinkle Parmesan over garlic |
