This is a great dish for serving left over ham. I like to add carrots and corn to this also Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine |
1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1 cup milk |
1 teaspoon dried onion flakes |
2 1/2 cups cubed, fully cooked ham |
1 cup frozen peas, thawed |
2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped |
pastry shells (8 in.) |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a saucepan; stir in flour, salt, mustard and pepper until smooth. 2. Gradually add milk and onion; bring to a boil. 3. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. 4. Stir in ham, peas, and eggs. 5. Pour into an ungreased 8 inch square or an 11x7x2 inch baking dish. 6. On a floured surface, roll pastry to fit top of dish; place over filling. 7. Seal and flute edges; cut slits on top. 8. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly. |
