This cake has a lot of rich flavors.I like that it doesnt use butter or too many eggs yet the results are moist and flavorful.Not real sweet either,a chocolate glaze will do that. Ingredients:
1 cup white sugar |
1 cup dark brown sugar |
1 3/4 cups flour |
3/4 cup baking cocoa |
1/4 tsp. cinnamon |
2 tsps. baking powder |
1 tsp. baking soda |
1 tsp. salt |
2 eggs |
1 cup strong brewed coffee,cooled |
1 cup buttermilk |
1/2 cup vegetable oil |
2 tsps. vanilla |
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl combine first 8 ingredients 2. Add eggs,coffee,buttermilk,oil and vanilla,beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.Batter will be somewhat thin. 3. Pour into a greased and floured 10 bundt pan (fluted tube pan ) 4. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes,or until a toothpick comes out clean. 5. {Check last 15 minutes,the last time I made this it took less than 45.} 6. Let cool in pan 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely. 7. When cool dust with powdered sugar or glaze with a chcolate glaze. 8. *Recommended glaze on this site is Elle's Shiny Chocolate Glaze 9. For cupcakes;bake 18-20 minutes |
