The sauce can be served over a variety of fruits, including strawberries, apples, pears, pineapple, or peaches. Ingredients:
1/3 cup fat-free evaporated milk |
4 teaspoons cornstarch |
1/2 cup packed brown sugar |
1/4 cup dark rum |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
3 tablespoons yogurt-based spread (such as brummel & brown) |
1/4 teaspoon vanilla, butter, and nut flavoring or vanilla extract |
4 1/2 cups sliced banana (about 7) |
Directions:
1. Combine evaporated milk and cornstarch in a 2-quart saucepan, stirring well with a whisk until cornstarch dissolves. Add sugar, rum, and salt; stir well. 2. Place saucepan over medium-high heat; bring to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Add spread and flavoring; stir well. Serve over banana. |
