Our daughter-in-law hates kidney beans so I used lentils instead. My husband loves this chili wrapped in a tortilla and smothered with cheese. Also great with cornbread. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1 lb ground pork |
1 can tomato soup |
1 can crushed tomatoes |
1 can lentils, drained and rinsed |
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed |
1 rib celery, sliced |
1 large carrot, grated |
1 large onion, diced |
2 pkgs taco seasoning |
1 c water |
Directions:
1. Brown meats together in frying pan 2. Drain off fat and place meat in slow cooker or large pan for stove-top.* 3. Add remaining ingredients 4. Cook on Low for 8-12 hours OR High for 4-5 hours 5. *If cooking on stove-top, simmer, covered, at least 1-2 hours |
