Another soul food recipe I experimented with until I had just the right ingredients. This has more flavor and spice than other recipes I have tried. Ingredients:
4 (14 ounce) cans black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained |
1/4 cup butter |
1 cup chopped onion |
1 cup diced cooked ham |
1 1/2 cups chopped green bell pepper |
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers, drained |
2 cloves garlic, minced |
1 tablespoon seasoned salt |
Directions:
1. Combine black-eyed peas, butter, onion, ham, bell pepper, diced tomatoes with green chile peppers, garlic, and seasoned salt in a slow cooker. 2. Cook on Low for 4 hours. |
