Debbie's Pumpkin Bars #2 (The Healthier Version)

These taste every bit as good as the original recipe ... without the guilt!
Ingredients:
1 2/3 cups sugar
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup egg substitute (such as egg beaters)
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 (16 ounce) can pumpkin
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F; grease& flour 10x15 jelly roll pan; set aside.
2. Beat sugar, oil, applesauce& egg substitute.
3. Sift dry ingredients and add to egg mixture; stir well to combine.
4. Add pumpkin& nuts.
5. Pour into prepared pan; bake 20-25 minutes or until done.
6. Cool thoroughly.
7. Frost with cream cheese frosting, or serve with Cool Whip.
