This is the way I have always fixed my green beans. I am always asked to bring them for any pot luck. My mom always makes me make them for family gatherings. You can add potatoes to this for a variation. Ingredients:
1 quart green beans (fresh canned or hanover) |
2 cups water |
1 teaspoon garlic, minced |
2 tablespoons onions, minced |
2 tablespoons bacon grease or 2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1 teaspoon sugar |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in 2 quart saucepan. 2. Simmer covered, 30 minutes. |
