sweet dates and gooey toffee! Ingredients:
3 cups flour |
1/3 cup brown sugar |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup butter |
1/2 cup yogurt |
2/3 cup water |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/2 cup pitted dates, chopped |
1/2 cup skor english toffee bit |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Using a pastry cutter or two knives, cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Add remaining ingredients and stir until just barely moistened. Turn out onto a clean surface and knead until dough is smooth. 3. Divide dough into two equal parts. Shape each part into a 3/4 thick circle; using a sharp knife, score the dough into five wedges. Place on prepared baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until light golden brown. |
