Ingredients:
1/3 cup instant tapioca
3 cups cold water
2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup chopped pecans
whipped cream
Directions:
1. Combine tapioca, water, sugar, and dates in a small Dutch oven; stir well. Let stand 5 minutes.
2. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened. Remove from heat; chill 1 hour. Stir in pecans. Chill until serving time.
3. Spoon into serving dishes, and top with whipped cream.
