This is another recipe clipping that Mom collected. I am sure there is one here on Zaar, but I just want to put it here for safe keeping. These are all cut out of magazines and I have no idea which magazine or paper they came from. Some are even newspaper clippings. Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
1 cup milk, fresh |
4 tablespoons butter |
2 cups nuts, chopped |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 1/2 cups dates, cut up and packed |
Directions:
1. Cook milk, sugar, and butter until it threads. 2. Add dates and vanilla. 3. Cook until it looks like jelly. 4. Add nuts and roll in a wet towel, wrung out in cold water. 5. Let stand overnight or about 8 hrs. 6. Slice thin. 7. Cook time is chilling time. |
