Date Pie With Graham Cracker Crust |

A yummy date pie with a delicious graham cracker crust. Great served slightly warm with whipped topping or icecream on top. Ingredients:
1/2 cup coarse graham cracker crumbs |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 cup chopped dates |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
2 egg whites |
1/2 cup sugar |
Directions:
1. Mix together first six ingredients until well blended. 2. Beat egg whites until foamy; add sugar a tablespoon or two at a time, beating well after each addition. 3. Continue beating until stiff peaks form. 4. Fold first mixture into the whites, blending well. 5. Pour into an 8-inch greased pie plate. 6. Bake at 325 degrees for 35 minutes. 7. *Delicious with ice cream, whipped topping, or whipped cream. |
