I made a mistake in the title of the recipe and it is now correct. sorry. it will cover a 3 layer 9-inch cake between the layers and the top and sides. Read more . the recipe is from the Spirit of Christmas series. Ingredients:
3 cups sugar |
1 can ( 14-ounces ) condensed sweetened milk |
1/2 cup hot water |
2 cups finely chopped dates ( about a pound ) |
1 cup finely chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. In medium saucepan ... combine sugar, milk, and water
2. bring to a boil over medium-high heat..
3. reduce heat to medium and cook for 5 -8 minutes, stirring constantly until frosting thickens
4. stir in dates and pecans.
5. let cool some
6. ...........................................................
7. this will cover a 3 layer cake top sides and in between the layers.
