one pot mixing for this one. Fast and easy, a nice moist loaf... Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups chopped dates |
1 1/2 cups cold water |
1 tablespoon butter |
2 teaspoons vanilla extract |
1 large beaten egg |
1 1/2 cups brown sugar |
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F. 2. Grease and line two loaf pans. 3. Combine in a saucepot over med. 4. heat, the date, water, butter, and vanilla. 5. Cook five minutes. 6. Let cool. 7. Add egg, and sugar. 8. Add flour and salt, and soda. 9. Fold in the nuts. 10. Blend well. 11. Pour into prepared loaf pans, and bake 60 minutes-. |
