Date (& Graham Cracker) Smoothie |

I love smoothies. Quick, easy and you can mix them up however your tastebuds are leading you that day. This one is very rich and high protein because of the Greek yogurt. If you have slightly stale graham crackers leftover from your last camping trip, this is a perfect way to use some of them up. Ingredients:
5 dried dates (pitted and soaked in milk overnight) |
1 graham cracker (crushed into crumbs) |
1 c. plain greek yogurt (or plain normal yogurt) |
1 c. milk |
1 tsp honey or vanilla extract |
1 pinch nutmeg |
2 c. ice |
sprinkle of nutmeg for garnish |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. 2. To cut the richness of the smoothie, do not add the graham cracker crumbs to the blender. Put the crumbs and nutmeg garnish together on a small plate, wet the rims of 2 tall glasses with milk, and just dip the rims in the crumb mixture instead. |
