An easy, quick preparation cake that you can adapt to suit your ingredients. This is the sort of recipe I love! Also - the ginger makes it a great cake for winter... Ingredients:
1 cup roughly chopped dates (heaped) |
1/2 cup glace ginger (or sultanas) |
1 large diced apple |
1 tbspn butter |
2 tbspns golden syrup (or another heavy syrup) |
1 tspn vanilla essence |
1 cup boiling water |
2 cups sr flour |
1 tspn mixed spice |
1/2 tspn chili |
Directions:
1. Mix it all up! 2. Bang it into a greased form of your choice 3. Cook 30-40 mins in a moderate oven (around 200 degrees C) 4. Allow to cool, and have a cuppa with it!!! |
