This is a recipe that belonged to my Grandmother and has now been passed down to me from my mother. Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup shortening |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup flour (sifted) |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 1/2 cups dates, chopped |
1 cup nuts, chopped |
Directions:
1. Cream together the first 3 ingrediants. 2. Add remaining ingredients. 3. Best baked in a 7 x 11 pan. 4. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. 5. Cut into bars, roll in powdered sugar. |
