Dark & Creamy Chocolate Cake |

Taken from the magazine section of the 2/7/10 Sunday newspaper. I haven't made this yet, but it sounds yummy! Ingredients:
14 tablespoons unsalted butter (1 3/4 sticks) |
7 ounces dark chocolate, chopped |
2/3 cup brown sugar |
5 eggs, cold |
3 tablespoons flour |
1 pinch salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9 inch cake pan with 2 inch sides. 2. Melt the butter and chocolate in a heavy saucepan over very low heat. Remove from heat and whisk in the sugar and the eggs, one at a time. Stir vigorously 2 or 3 times, then gently whisk in the flour and salt. Pour the batter into the pan and tap the pan against the counter to break any bubbles. 3. Bake about 20 minutes or until a knife inserted into the cake comes out clean. Run the knife around the edge of the pan, cool 10 minutes, then unmold and cool right side up on a rack. |
