Dark Chocolate Truffle Temptations |

Sprinkle truffles with crushed peppermint candies and/or multi-colored sprinkles in addition to, or instead of, walnuts. For a variation, coat truffles with icing sugar or unsweetened cocoa powder instead of dipping in the melted chocolate and topping with the walnuts. Ingredients:
16 (1 ounce) baker's premium 70% cacao dark chocolate squares, divided |
1/4 cup whipping cream |
1 tablespoon butter |
1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Chop 8 of the chocolate squares; place in microwaveable bowl. Add cream and butter. Microwave on MEDIUM 1 1/2 minutes; stir until chocolate is completely melted. Cover. Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm. Meanwhile, cover baking sheet with waxed paper. 2. Shape chocolate mixture into 24 balls, using about 1 teaspoons for each ball. Place in single layer on prepared baking sheet. 3. Melt remaining 8 chocolate squares as directed on package. Dip chocolate balls, one at a time, in melted chocolate. Return to baking sheet. Sprinkle with walnuts. Refrigerate until chocolate is firm. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator. |
