Silky chocolate fondue is a great way to finish off a brunch. If you like, Toblerone chocolate works well in the dish, because it's honey-nouget blend echoes the honey and almond flavors that are also in the recipe. Ingredients:
3/4 cup whipping cream |
6 tablespoons honey |
4 (3 5/8 ounce) toblerone chocolate bars or 14 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped |
2 tablespoons kirsch (clear cherry brandy) |
1/2 teaspoon almond extract |
fresh fruit (such as whole strawberries, 1 inch thick sliced peeled banana, peeled pear wedges, sliced star fruit) |
Directions:
1. Bring cream and honey to simmer in heavy medium saucepan. 2. Add chocolate; whisk until melted. 3. Remove from heat. 4. Whisk in kirsch and extract. 5. Pour fondue into bowl; place on platter and surround with assorted fruits. 6. Serve fondue with skewers. |
