Dark Chocolate Double Chocolate Cherry Drops |

I adapted this from a recipe that uses cocoa. Instead of cocoa I use dark chocolate. Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups sugar |
1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine, softened |
1/4 cup milk |
1/4 teaspoon almond extract |
3 ounces dark chocolate, melted |
1 egg |
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 cup quick-cooking oats |
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips |
1 cup dried cherries |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. In a large bowl, beat sugar, butter, milk, almond extract, melted chocolate and egg with an electric mixer until smooth. 3. Stir in flour, baking soda, oats, chocolate chips, and dried cherries. 4. Chill dough for 30 minutes. 5. Drop by rounded tablespoons about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. 6. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until no longer shiny. 7. Immediately remove from cookie sheet and place on cooling rack. |
