After an extensive search and some tweaking, I finally have a deep, dark, chewy, not too sweet brownie my family loves! Nuts can also be added if you like. Ingredients:
3 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate |
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips |
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar |
1/2 cup butter, cut into pieces |
3 tablespoons water |
3 large eggs |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract |
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8-inch-square baking pan. Set aside 1/2 cup chocolate chips. 2. Microwave baking chocolate, 1 1/2 cup chocolate chips, butter and water in glass bowl ,checking and stirring every 30 seconds until chocolate and butter are smooth and melted. 3. Pour melted mixture into medium bowl stir in sugar, then eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla extract. Add flour and salt, stir well. Stir in remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Pour into prepared baking pan. 4. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out slightly stick. Cool on wire rack before cutting. |
