Luscious, rich, creamy...and delightfully versatile. Using a simple basic recipe, plus whatever add-ins you want, you can turn out an unlimited amount of varieties for friends, family, or personal nibbling. :) I slightly tweaked a recipe given to me by my college friend Courtney (thanks, Courtney!) and came up with this. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Ingredients:
3 cups chocolate chips (1 1/2 bags) |
1/4 cup butter |
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla |
1 cup nuts or 1 cup candy canes, crushed ( add-ins ) or 1 cup dried fruit ( add-ins ) |
Directions:
1. Melt chocolate, butter, milk, and vanilla together in small saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and glossy. 2. Stir in your choice of add-ins. . 3. Turn into well-greased 8x8 pan; chill until firm, at least 3 hours, and cut into squares. 4. RECOMMENDED VARIATIONS- Try different types of chocolate chips, or a mixture: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, semi-sweet, butterscotch, mint, cinnamon, etc. Use some dried cranberries or blueberries. Stir in sliced almonds, chopped walnuts (with maple extract rather than vanilla - mm), peanuts, or chopped pecans. How about macademia nuts and craisins? Crushed peppermint candies, caramels, or M&M's would be great too. |
