Danish Dog Food (Peppernuts) |

This is a delicious, addictive danish cookie recipe given to my mom by a good friend. A member of the family said it looked like 'dog food', and the name stuck! Ingredients:
1 cup margarine |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 cup white sugar |
2 eggs |
1/4 teaspoon ginger |
1/4 teaspoon clove |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon cream of tartar |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
3 cups flour |
1/4 cup flour, for rolling dough |
Directions:
1. Cream together Margarine and Sugar.
2. Add eggs.
3. Mix flour and all spices together in a large bowl.
4. Gradually add flour mixture to sugar mixture.
5. Dough will be very stiff.
6. Refrigerate 30 minutes til firm.
7. Roll dough into thin rolls about the size of a pencil.
8. Cut into small pieces.
9. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes.
