This recipe came from my grandmother. Ingredients:
1 cup buttermilk |
2 eggs |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 cup flour |
12 teaspoon baking powder |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
3 tablespoons melted butter |
1/2 teaspoon cardamom |
Directions:
1. Beat the egg yolks, then the buttermilk 2. mix in sifted dry ingredients, combine well 3. add melted butter 4. beat egg whites and add to other ingredients 5. grease the aebleskiver pan , which should not be too hot 6. (pan can be greased with paper towel wrapped over a fork) 7. Fill each section of the pan about 2/3 full 8. use a knitting needle or fork to turn the aebliskivers as they cook 9. Be sure they are done on the inside 10. Bake until golden brown and cooked through 11. continue greasing pan before each batch of batter is put in 12. serve with sugar, powdered sugar or jelly |
