It's Zippy Dressing as Dad called it. Lots of flavor but no salt! I don't know if he came up with it himself or got it from somewhere. He used it when he started watching his salt intake. Ingredients:
1 cup canola oil (see note) |
1/4 cup vinegar (see note) |
2 oz water |
1 tsp celery seed |
1/2 tsp paprika |
1/2 tsp dry mustard |
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper |
1 clove garlic, minced |
dash tobasco sauce |
Directions:
1. No here's dad's recipe verbatum... 2. (Put it all in a bottle.) Of the last 5 ingredients, he says or way!!! more, if you wish. Shake up with thumb over top of bottle. 3. Note: I like to use extra virgin olive oil, but once it's refrigerated, you have to let it sit out a while before serving, because the oil solidifies in the frig. I use red wine vinegar. |
