My dad's been making this for about as long as I can remember. It works equally well for chicken, beef or pork. Ingredients:
2 cups water |
1/2 cup butter |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1 -2 dash tabasco sauce |
3/4 teaspoon prepared mustard |
1 tablespoon horseradish |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
2 tablespoons vinegar |
2 teaspoons sugar |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon marjoram |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
2 -3 tablespoons liquid smoke |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in saucepan and simmer, covered, for 35 minutes. 2. Marinate meat to be barbecued for 30 minutes at room temperature prior to cooking. 3. Baste occasionally while cooking. |
