Spicy ethnic lentil soup. Usually served over rice. Ingredients:
1 cup yellow lentils |
3 -4 dried red chili peppers |
1/2 teaspoon turmeric |
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds |
2 tablespoons oil |
salt, to taste |
Directions:
1. Boil lentils and keep aside. 2. Heat oil in a flat pan. 3. Add all the seasoning (chillies, turmeric, mustard and salt). Saute for a minute. 4. Add the boiled lentils. Cover and simmer for a minute. 5. Serve hot. |
