This is a good filling for Boston cream pie and other desserts that call for fillings. Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups milk |
2 tablespoons cornstarch |
1/4 cup sugar |
2 egg yolks, lightly beaten |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Scald 1 cup of the milk in double boiler. 2. In a bowl, combine cornstarch and sugar; blend in remaining 1/4 cup milk till smooth. 3. Add to hot milk and stir till smooth. 4. Add egg yolks gradually till mixture thickens. 5. Cool and add vanilla. |
