This is a custard recipe. You be the judge on prep time and cook time. Ingredients:
5 eggs beaten separately |
1/2 c. sugar |
2 tsps. flour |
1 qt. whole milk |
pinch of salt, vanilla |
Directions:
1. Heat milk in double boiler (not boil) until warm add sugar, flour and salt, to beaten yolks, stir this mixtue into the warm milk, continue stirring and cook until the bowl of spoon is well coated. 2. (Done when of consistency of heavy cream.) 3. Remove and cool slightly. 4. Pour hot mixture over beaten egg whites. 5. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla. 6. Cover and cool in refrigerator. 7. Stir well before serving. |
