vegan tofu, great with stirfries Ingredients:
454 g extra firm tofu |
2 tbsp curry powder |
1 tbsp cornstarch |
1 tsp salt |
1 spray vegetable oil |
Directions:
1. Cut tofu into 1/2 - inch/1.25 cm thick slices. 2. Pat tofu pieces dry with paper towels. 3. On a plate, combine curry powder, cornstarch and salt and mix well. Spread mixture into a thin layer evenly over the plate. Dredge tofu pieces gently in curry mixture until lightly but evenly coated. 4. Heat oil in non-stick skillet over medium heat. Fry curry-coated tofu pieces for about 2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy on the outside. Turn heat down if necessary to prevent spices from burning. |
