                    From C. Wong at Madison Middle School. Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                1 tablespoon cooking oil  |  
                                                1 cup minced onion  |  
                                                1 cup chopped green pepper  |  
                                                1/2 cup currants  |  
                                                2 cups uncooked rice  |  
                                                1 teaspoon salt  |  
                                                1/2 teaspoon pepper  |  
                                                1/2 teaspoon curry powder  |  
                                                1 quart chicken broth  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. Heat oil in a wok; stir in onion, green pepper and currants, stirring until tender (about 10 minutes). Stir in rice and seasonings; brown slightly. Pour broth over rice and mix well. Bring to a boil, cover, simmer 20-25 minutes or until rice is tender.                              |
