Curried potato hcips are an awesome side. This is a classic, and it gives potato chips a flavor that changes it. kind of. Ingredients:
i or 2 large idaho potatoes |
1 cup of vegetable oil |
1 clove of garlic finely minced or 1 teaspoon of garlic salt |
1-2 teaspoons of curry powder |
salt and pepper if you wish |
Directions:
1. Pell potato if you wish-not necessary. 2. Slice thinly with a chef's nice or mandilin. 3. Rinse with cold water. 4. Drain well in a colander or in paper towels 5. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350 degress. 6. You will know when it's hot enough when a potato slice sizzles in contact. 7. Fry chips a few at a time, stirring occasionaly to prevent from sticking 8. When all chips are done, drain and place in a large bowl. 9. In a seperate smaller bowl, add 1 tavlesoon of the hot frying oil. 10. Add garlic and let sit for 30 secconds (After 30 secconds, DO NOT remove garlic). 11. Add curry powder, and salt and pepper. 12. Mix well to combine. 13. Drizzle mixture over chips immediately. 14. Toss gently to coat well. 15. Serve warm or at room temperature. 16. So this is how you make curry potato chips. |
