Good basic recipe. Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening |
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs, beaten |
1 3/4 cups flour |
3 teaspoons baking powder |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening. Add the sugar gradually. 2. Add beaten eggs. 3. Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt tegether. 4. Add alternately with the milk to the first mixture. 5. Add vanilla and mix well. 6. Pour into greased cup cake pans. 7. Bake in a hot oven (400 degrees F.) 15 to 20 minutes depending on your oven (or until golden brown). 8. Cool. 9. Cover tops with frosting. |
