A bread to serve with southwestern taste. Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour |
1/4 cup sugar |
2 tablespoons baking powder |
4 teaspoons ground cumin |
2 teaspoons salt |
1 teaspoon cumin seed,crushed |
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard |
3 eggs |
1-1/2 cups milk |
1/3 cup vegetable oil |
3 tablespoons picante sauce |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees: 2. In a large bowl,combine first 7 ingredients. 3. In a medium bowl,whisk together remaining ingredients. 4. Add egg mixture to dry ingredients,stir (just)until batter is moist. 5. Pour batter evenly into 3 greased 3x5-1/2 loaf pans. 6. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. 7. Cool in pans 10 minutes,then turn onto a cooling rack to cool completely. 8. Store in an airtight container. 9. Bread may be served at room temperature or warm. 10. To reheat:preheat oven to 350 degrees.Bake uncovered on a ungreased baking sheet 3 to 5 minutes or until heated through. 11. Makes 3 loaves of bread |
