Cumin And Sesame Flatbread |

Who doesn't like a good flatbread? There are lots of options for different seasonings: kosher salt, poppy seeds, garlic, pepper etc. Experiment. Ingredients:
2 cups unbleached white flour |
1/2 tsp salt |
3/4 cup water |
olive for brushing |
2 tbsp. sesame seeds |
3/4 tsp ground cumin |
Directions:
1. In a bowl combine flour and salt. 2. Add enough water to hold dough together. 3. Knead for 5 min. until smooth. 4. Wrap in plastic wrap & set at room temperature for 15 minutes. 5. Divide dough into 6 pieces, lightly flour your hands & work surface then shape dough into balls and flatten them. 6. Roll out circles to 6 diameter. 7. Brush lightly with olive oil, sprinkle sesame seeds & cumin. 8. Press lightly into dough. 9. Lightly oil a skillet & heat over medium heat. 10. Place dough circle in skillet & flip when dark brown spots appear. (appriximately 3 minutes per side) 11. Flip and repeat. 12. Transfer to platter & cover to keep warm until ready to serve. |
