This is great for bbq's or as a summer-y side dish. The mixture will get very liquidy and its supposed to be that way. Best if eaten after prepared but, the cucumbers will loose their crispness after a day or so. Read more . Also the overnight water bath of the cucumbers is not included in time to make this. Ingredients:
2 cucumbers, thinly sliced |
1/2 purple onion ' thinly sliced |
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream |
1/4 cup distilled white vinegar |
2 tablespoons white sugar |
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (may add less, if prefered) |
1/4 teaspoon dill weed |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/4 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper |
salt to taste. |
Directions:
1. 1.Place the cucumber slices in a container and cover with cold water. Refrigerate overnight. 2. 2.Whisk the sour cream, vinegar, sugar, cayenne pepper, dill weed, garlic powder, cracked black pepper and salt in a mixing bowl until the sugar has dissolved. Add the sliced onion and drain the cucumbers and squeeze out the excess water; add to the bowl and mix to coat with dressing. 3. 3. Serve immediatly. |
