From a friend at Hope Lodge. I am not sure of how much this makes. Ingredients:
2 gallons sliced cucumbers |
4 sliced bell peppers |
4 sliced onions |
3/4 cup salt |
5 cups sugar |
1/2 tablespoon turmeric |
1/2 teaspoon clove |
1/2 teaspoon celery seed |
1/8 cup mustard seeds |
1 quart vinegar |
10 cups water |
Directions:
1. Cover the vegetables with water and ice chips and weigh them down, with a plate on top, so everything is under water for 3 hours. Drain. 2. Mix the last 7 ingredients for the syrup. Heat the syrup. 3. Add the heated syrup to the drained vegetables. 4. Pour into hot sterilized jars. Seal. 5. Water bath for 30 minutes. |
