This recipe has been in our family for years. My grandmother used to make it. We often take this along on picnics. Ingredients:
3 large cucumbers, peeled, sliced thin |
1 onion, sliced |
1 green pepper, chopped (optional) |
1 tablespoon salt |
1 teaspoon celery seed |
1/2 cup white vinegar |
3/4 cup sugar |
Directions:
1. Toss together the sliced cucumbers, onions and peppers. 2. Mix together vinegar, salt, sugar and celery seed. 3. Pour over cucumber mixture. 4. Mix. 5. Put into plastic storge container with lid. 6. Refrigerate overnight. |
