Cubed Steak and Wild Rice |

I'm so sick of cream of mushroom soup being the only way to cook cubed steak - try this, it's a welcome change! Use Worcestershire sauce (2 tbsp) instead of salt for a richer taste. Ingredients:
16 oz beef, top round |
4 1/2 oz wild rice |
2 c water |
5 large mushrooms, fresh |
1/4 tsp salt |
2 tsp minced garlic |
1 tbsp onion powder |
Directions:
1. In a skillet over medium heat melt the butter and saute the steak until evenly browned. 2. In a medium pot mixed the cooked steak and juices, rice, water, mushrooms, Worcestershire (instead of salt), garlic powder and onion powder. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 25 minutes or until all liquid has been absorbed. |
