Traditional Cuban Ground Beef Dish. Can substitute ground pork, chicken, veal or turkey. Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef, pan fryed and drained |
1/2 onion |
1/2 green pepper |
1/2 red pepper |
1 cup olives, chopped |
5 garlic cloves |
2 tablespoons of tomato paste |
1 cup of peas |
2 potatos, cubed |
2 cups of organic beef stock |
1 tablespoon of oregano |
1 teaspoon of turmeric |
1 tablespoon cider vinegar |
1 tablespoon of olive oil |
1 salt to taste |
1 pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. heat olive oil 2. brown beef and drain 3. heat olive oil 4. saute onions and garlic 5. add peppers 6. add tomato paste 7. add beef stock 8. add vinegar 9. add olives 10. add spices 11. add peas and return beef to pan 12. cook covered over low-medium heat 13. bake or fry potatoes then add to pan 14. cover and let simmer addtional 15-20 mins. 15. Serve with rice and salad |
