From Pillsbury Doughboy Slow Cooker Recipies (2003). Ingredients:
16 ounces dried black beans, sorted, rinsed (equivalent to 1 lb or 2 1/3 cups) |
1 cup ham, cooked and finely chopped |
1 cup onion, chopped |
1 cup tomato, chopped (1 large tomato) |
1 cup green bell pepper, chopped (1 medium bell pepper) |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
3 cups beef broth |
1 3/4 cups water |
1/4 cup dark rum or 1/4 cup apple cider |
2 tablespoons oil |
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin |
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano |
Directions:
1. In 3 1/2 to 6-quart slow cooker, combine all ingredients; mix well. 2. Cover; cook on high setting for 6 to 8 hours. |
