Sue's Crunchy Green Salad Ingredients:
sweet & sour dressing |
1 cup vegetable oil |
3/4 cups sugar (i use a little less) |
1/2 cup wine vinegar |
3 tsp. soy sauce |
pepper to taste |
salad |
1 cup walnuts |
1 pkg. ramen noodles, uncooked (discard flavor packet) |
4 tbls. butter |
1 bunch broccoli, coarsely chopped |
1 head romaine lettuce, washed and cut into pieces |
4 green onions, sliced |
1 cup sweet & sour dressing |
Directions:
1. Blend all dressing ingredients (Yield: around 2 cups) 2. Put noodles into a ziplock bag and pound with something heavy to break into pieces. Brown noodles and walnuts in butter. Drain and cool. Toss lettuce, onions, and broccoli. (Steps to here can be done ahead of time.) Just before serving, add the nut/noodle mixture to the vegetable mixture and toss with dressing. |
