This is a nice and simple cake recipe that tastes great with a cream cheese icing. Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening |
1 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup molasses |
2 eggs |
3/4 cup sour milk |
1/2 cup walnuts |
2 3/4 cups sifted flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon clove |
1 cup seeded raisins |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, blend well after each addition. Beat in Molasses and beaten eggs. Add sour milk alrternately with sifted dry ingredients. Blend in walnuts and raisins. Pour into prepared 9x13 - inch pan, and bake at 350F for 40 minutes.
