Croissant Toast With Orange Honey Butter-ci |

A bit of a twist on French Toast...perfect for brunch. This is even that much better if you make your own butter for the honey butter. Ingredients:
1 cup half and half |
6 eggs |
2t orange zest |
1t nutmeg |
1t vanilla |
1 stick butter |
8 plain croissants, sliced lengthwise |
powdered sugar(optional) |
orange honey butter |
1 stick butter, softened(no substitutes) |
1t orange zest |
2t honey |
Directions:
1. Beat together orange honey butter ingredients until well blended. Set aside. 2. In pie plate or pan, beat eggs then slowly add half and half and whisk together. 3. Add zest, nutmeg and vanilla. 4. Melt 2T butter in skillet. 5. Dip 4 croissant halves into egg mixture and cook in skillet over medium heat for 4 minutes each side(only turn once). 6. Repeat as needed with remaining butter and bread. 7. Serve with dollop of orange honey butter and dust with powdered sugar, if desired. |
