A warm breakfast to wake up to. Ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats |
2 cups apple, diced |
1 cup dried cranberries |
1/3 cup slivered almonds |
1/3 cup pecans, chopped |
3 cups water |
1 cup skim milk |
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon |
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice |
2 teaspoons butter |
2/3 c brown sugar |
Directions:
1. Combine the oats, apple, cranberries, water, milk, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and butter in a slow cooker. Cook on Low overnight or 8 hours. 2. Tips: 3. Cook on lowest setting because some people have said that it may burn. 4. Place washcloth over the pot, under the lid to soak up condensation so the oatmeal doesn't get too mushy. 5. Put nuts in shortly before serving to keep them crunchy. |
