My spin on the more common jelly/chili sauce appetizer. This one is spicy and smoky and gets it's touch of sweetness from apple butter. Ingredients:
2lbs cocktail sausages |
2 cans chipotles in adobo |
1/2 cup whole grain mustard |
1/2 cup apple butter |
1t coriander powder |
1t cumin |
dash of liquid smoke(optional) |
1t red pepper flakes or hot sauce(optional ) |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker(the small ones works great for these) 2. Cook for about 3 hours, stirring once in between. 3. Serve from slow cooker, or plate in dishes and sprinkle with cotija cheese. |
